A Family Engagement

Last night David and I were invited by our dear friend Tamar’s parents to attend a casual dinner party engagement celebration at their home and we had the best time getting to celebrate Tam and Rob’s wedding engagement with both of their families. The whole evening was very laid back, but very very fun. We [...]

As the October 8 date approaches, the Michael Forever tribute concert in Cardiff, Wales, in honor of late pop icon Michael Jackson has added two more headliners. On Friday (September 23), the Black Eyed Peas joined a lineup that is also slated to feature performances by Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Leona Lewis, Ne-Yo, Craig David, Pixie Lott, Alexandra Burke, Alien Ant Farm and Motown legend Smokey Robinson.

The show, which is being presented by Jackson's mother, Katherine, along with some but not all of the King of Pop's siblings (and without the sanction of his estate), will be hosted by Oscar winner Jamie Foxx. Pregnant pop queen Beyoncé will appear in some form at the show via a pre-taped satellite segment.

A press release also announced that Oscar-winning singer Jennifer Hudson has been added to the lineup as well.

In a statement, Peas co-founder will.i.am — who spent time in the studio with Jackson prior to the singer's June 2009 death — said of his band's participation, "This show is going to be an incredibly personal and moving evening for me. Remember that Michael's music, his great, great songs, have been an inspiration to my whole life and certainly formed the soundtrack to my childhood. When I was a little kid of six or seven growing up in Los Angeles, there was Michael recording Thriller, and all his early hits, just a few miles away across town — obviously I didn't know him at that time, but I loved him as a fan."

One of the members of the original Jackson Five, sibling Marlon Jackson, will be on hand, and he expressed his excitement about the addition of the Peas. "We're all really delighted and touched that the Black Eyed Peas are able to come and take part " he said. "My brother rated Will.i.am and the original things he does in music very highly. I guess you could say it was a case of mutual respect."

Some members of the Jackson family, including siblings Janet, Jermaine and Randy, have complained about the timing of the show, which will take place in the midst of the manslaughter trial of Jackson's physician Dr. Conrad Murray.

Jamie Campbell Bower Is Our New Class' 'Next Johnny Depp'

'Johnny Depp has always been a massive inspiration for me,' 'Breaking Dawn' actor tells MTV News.

Jamie Campbell Bower has already been swept up in the frenzy of two of Hollywood's biggest franchises ever, "Twilight" and "Harry Potter." At 22, he's settled for nothing less than A-list flicks, including "Sweeney Todd," "RocknRolla" and playing King Arthur in the miniseries "Camelot."

Thanks to his gypsy style and diverse résumé that includes films both big and small, Bower has been named "Most Likely to Be the Next Johnny Depp" by MTV Movies' New Class Yearbook. And with one Tim Burton film already under his belt, Bower is well on his way to following in the footsteps of the man who's made pirates oh so cool.

But it's what Bower is set to do next that's really going to keep the upward momentum of his career going. In addition to the closing out of the "Twilight" franchise in the next year with roles in "Breaking Dawn" parts 1 and 2, the actor will gear up to star in "The Mortal Instruments" alongside Lily Collins.

He's also a man who can mix it up and star in a period piece like next month's "Anonymous," which centers on the theory that Edward de Vere, earl of Oxford, actually wrote Shakespeare's plays. MTV's Josh Horowitz sat down with Bower recently to discuss all that's in store for the actor.

MTV: This is, like, your time. You have some really cool opportunities right now. Does it feel like this is what you've been working toward?

Jamie Campbell Bower: Well, yes. Being able to do lead roles in pictures or onstage or whatever it is that you're doing in acting is obviously what you strive for because you want to better yourself as an actor and you want to better yourself as a person as well. But that does come with a lot of responsibility and a great deal of weight. At the moment, I'm incredibly nervous and I hope I just don't f--- it up.

MTV: Your ["Mortal Instruments"] audition — I want to hear from you. Did it feel like you embraced Jace?

Bower: This was a big deal for me and so I did a lot of preparation. I sent an email out asking what the character would wear, how he would dress, and I really focused on it. I was constantly, constantly, constantly looking at the lines and looking at the words and trying to nail who this guy was. They've taken a bit of, not a risk, but to put their trust in me and give me that role is very humbling.

MTV: Are we going to see much of you in "Breaking Dawn: Part 1"?

Bower: "Breaking Dawn: Part 1"? You'll see a bit of us [the Volturi]. We're around. "Part 2" is sort of where we really "throw down," would be the correct terminology? "Part 1," for us, is a lot of menacing set dressing. I am the best out-of-focus actor that you've ever seen, aren't I?

MTV: Is there a career to emulate?

Bower: You know, Johnny Depp has always been a massive inspiration for me and he's somebody who has produced an incredible amount of work, and every single piece that he does is amazing. And he also very cleverly manages to stay himself and very much shy away from the limelight, where it could have been very easy for him to put himself in a position where his friends and his family were in danger. And that's a scary thought. I think that's the main thing, to keep focused. It's a job at the end of the day and you have a responsibility to the people you're making the film for.

Britney Spears recently shared that she plans to shoot her video for "Criminal" in England, and now fans are not only learning more details about her plans to promote the single but also getting a look at the cover artwork.

The turquoise-and-red single art for the song — which is now all over the blogs — features a serious-looking Spears looking out into the distance, her wavy hair falling on her bare back. A mysterious hooded man is also featured on the cover. A rep confirmed to MTV News on Wednesday (September 14) that the art is official.

Spears has promised that the video will be eye-catching. "Actually, the song, when I first heard it, it's really different and it's not anything I've heard like this before. So I really wanted to deliver this song. I was thinking of a really cool concept for the video just to make it interesting," she told us last month. "You'll have to see."

As for the location of the shoot, Spears gushed about it on Twitter. "So excited to stop over in the UK before I start my European tour in a few weeks," she wrote. "Can't wait! I LOVE London, it's like my second home. Decided to shoot the 'Criminal' video in the streets of merry old England when I get there."

As Spears gears up for the release of "Criminal," she's also got a few other projects in the works, including a remix album due out next month and a concert special set to air on Epix. The just-released trailer for the special, set to air in November, uses concert footage from her Femme Fatale Tour, which Brit is gearing up to take to Europe later this month.

What are you hoping to see from Brit's "Criminal" video? Tell us in the comments!
